Design & Build Quality
Samsung has given the S26 Plus the same unified design language as the Ultra this year — the biggest visual change from the S25 Plus. Where the S25 Plus had individual floating camera rings, the S26 Plus now sports the same Camera Island — a pill-shaped camera housing that groups all three lenses together. The result is a noticeably more premium and cohesive look that brings it in line with the Ultra and Z Fold 7.
At approximately 192 grams, the Plus is heavier than the base S26 (168g) but lighter than the Ultra (214g). It’s a large phone — the 6.7 inch form factor is not for everyone — but in the hand the weight feels well distributed. The matte glass back feels premium and doesn’t attract fingerprints aggressively.
Build materials: Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both front and back, Armor Aluminum frame, and IP68 water and dust resistance. Display — 6.7″ QHD+ 120Hz
The display is one of the S26 Plus’s strongest selling points. A 6.7 inch QHD+ (1440p) Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with adaptive 1-120Hz refresh and 2600 nits peak brightness — this is the same resolution as the S26 Ultra, and a significant step up from the base S26’s FHD+ (1080p).
The difference between QHD+ and FHD+ is most noticeable when watching high-resolution video, reading fine text, or using the display at close range. On a 6.7 inch screen, 1440p is genuinely sharp — text looks crisp and images have real depth. The 10-bit color support means you get over 1 billion colors with no banding on HDR content.
Pro Scaler — Samsung’s AI-powered display enhancement — is available on the Plus and Ultra when QHD+ mode is enabled. It makes images and video look sharper and more lifelike. Activate it by going to Settings → Display → Screen Resolution → QHD+.
Outdoor visibility is excellent. The 2600 nit peak brightness is enough to remain clearly readable in direct harsh sunlight. The adaptive refresh rate intelligently drops as low as 1Hz for always-on display and static content, saving meaningful battery.
Performance — Exynos 2600 (2nm)

The S26 Plus runs the world’s first 2nm Exynos 2600 — the same chip as the base S26 (the Ultra gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5). This is Samsung’s most significant Exynos improvement in years.
On Geekbench, Exynos 2600 performance is very close to Snapdragon 8 Elite. GPU scores are neck and neck. The 2nm process means more performance per watt — better battery life and less heat than previous Exynos generations.
The Exynos 2200 was heavily criticised for overheating. The 2600 has largely solved that — real-world testing shows it running significantly cooler. In extended gaming sessions, the Plus ran without discomfort. Quantum-level encryption in UFS 4.0 storage adds another layer of future-proof security.
The Exynos 2600’s GPU scores around 24,000 in OpenCL — a significant improvement over the S25 Plus’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 1. Real-world gaming on the S26 Plus is smooth, with noticeably fewer frame drops and lower temperatures compared to the S25 Plus during extended sessions.
The larger body of the Plus compared to the base S26 means better thermal headroom — more space for heat dissipation. This is one reason the Plus also charges faster (45W vs 25W on base). Sustained performance over long gaming sessions benefits from this larger chassis.
BGMI and COD Mobile: Game optimization for Exynos 2600 is still in progress — 120FPS mode is not yet fully available as it was on S25 Plus. Samsung will roll this out through updates. For most games and daily use, performance is already excellent.
Base storage starts at 256GB this year — the 128GB option from previous years is gone. Both 256GB and 512GB variants use UFS 4.0 for fast read/write speeds.
Camera — 50MP Triple System
The camera setup on the S26 Plus is identical to the base S26 — 50MP main + 10MP 3X telephoto + 12MP ultrawide. The same hardware, the same field of view, the same maximum zoom. For a phone at ₹1,19,000, this needs to be said plainly: the S26 Plus does not have a periscope telephoto lens.
At this price point, both the iPhone 17 Pro ($1,100 / ~₹93,000) and the Google Pixel 10 Pro ($1,000 / ~₹85,000) offer periscope telephoto systems that deliver superior optical zoom. Samsung is behind the competition specifically here. If zoom photography is important to you, this is a genuine concern.
That said, the camera system is far from bad. Main camera performance has improved over the S25 Plus through better AI processing. Skin tones are more natural. Detail is sharper. Colors are more accurate. Low-light shots show real improvement. The dependable Samsung camera experience remains intact.
Ultrawide: Even wider than last year — the field of view expansion is noticeable at the frame corners. Shadow areas tend to be slightly darker, which is an area for improvement.
3X telephoto: Reliable up to 10X. Portraits at 3X are excellent with natural bokeh. Beyond 10X, digital zoom degrades quickly — this is where the lack of a periscope hurts most. The Ultra’s 5X periscope zoom stays sharp much further.
Selfie camera (12MP): 4K 60fps selfie video is a highlight. Skin tones are accurate. Wide enough for group shots. Auto Zoom — a new feature that automatically tracks and centres the subject — works well for vlogging.

The Audio Eraser upgrade is genuinely impressive. Tested on live YouTube content with heavy background noise — toggling Audio Eraser on reduced the ambient noise clearly. Photo Assist with text prompt editing is a creative tool that has matured significantly. All Galaxy AI features present on the S26 Plus are the same as the base S26. Battery & Charging — The Big Upgrade

💬 Our Honest Opinion — No Sugar Coating
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is a genuinely well-rounded premium phone — but it asks you to make one significant compromise. At ₹1,19,000, no periscope telephoto is a real gap. Both the iPhone 17 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro at comparable prices have periscope lenses. Samsung knows this. The camera hardware on the Plus has not meaningfully evolved from the S25 Plus — the improvement comes entirely from AI processing, not optics.
But look beyond the camera hardware and the picture is much better. The 6.7 inch QHD+ display is excellent — bright, sharp, 10-bit color. The Exynos 2600 is Samsung’s best chip effort in years — thermal issues that plagued Exynos 2200 are largely gone. 45W charging with a 57-minute full charge is practical and fast. And the Galaxy Watch 7/8 reverse wireless charging is a small but genuinely useful quality-of-life upgrade that frequent travellers will appreciate.
