In the box you will find the T5 Pro handset, a 90W USB Type-A fast charger, a USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable, a SIM card ejector tool, documentation and quick start guides, and — importantly — a transparent TPU silicon case cover. The inclusion of a back cover in the box is a genuinely thoughtful touch that many competitors in this price segment skip.

The vivo T5 Pro has a polycarbonate back panel with a subtle brushed wave pattern that gives it a premium matte finish. Fingerprints and smudges are effectively invisible on this surface — a major practical advantage for daily use. The side frame is also polycarbonate with a flat, boxy design reminiscent of the current industry trend. The flat sides actually feel comfortable and solid in the hand.

Despite packing a 9020mAh battery — the largest ever on a vivo phone — the T5 Pro is remarkably slim at just 8.25mm thickness. This is possible thanks to the silicon carbon battery technology, which allows for greater energy density in a smaller physical footprint. The weight stands at 214g, which is slightly on the heavier side but perfectly acceptable given the battery size. Weight distribution is well-balanced, meaning the phone does not feel front or back heavy.

Durability credentials are genuinely impressive. The T5 Pro carries both IP68 and IP69 dual water resistance certification — IP68 meaning submersion protection up to 1.5m for 30 minutes, and IP69 meaning protection against high-pressure water jets. This dual rating places it well above most competitors in this price bracket. The back panel also uses shield glass protection for added drop resistance.

The display is genuinely one of the biggest highlights of the T5 Pro, and it is a meaningful upgrade over the T4 Pro in multiple ways. You get a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution — which means noticeably sharper pixel density compared to the Full HD+ display on the T4 Pro. The flat design is a deliberate choice by vivo, responding to user feedback that preferred flat displays over the quad-curved design of the previous generation.

The 144Hz adaptive refresh rate delivers smooth, fluid scrolling and excellent responsiveness — though in day-to-day UI use, you will typically see the display settling at 120Hz. The real standout number is the peak brightness: 5000 nits peak and 2000 nits HBM brightness. In direct sunlight, visibility is outstanding — no squinting or tilting required. This makes it one of the brightest displays in its price segment.

Bezels are impressively thin all around, with the chin being barely noticeable. The screen-to-body ratio exceeds 94.6%, giving you an almost all-screen front view. Colours on the AMOLED panel are punchy and vivid, with deep blacks and excellent contrast ratio — making this an ideal display for video content, gaming, and general multimedia consumption.

The 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming is a great addition for eye-comfort — at lower brightness levels, the display flicker is practically imperceptible, reducing eye fatigue during long usage sessions. For those who spend hours on their phones daily, this is a meaningful feature.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 is the chipset powering the T5 Pro. It is built on a 4nm architecture and is a capable mid-range processor — but it is a slight step down from the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 found in the T4 Pro. This is one of the notable downgrades that existing T4 Pro users will notice. That said, for most buyers coming fresh to this price segment, the 7s Gen 4 delivers more than enough performance for daily tasks, multitasking, and gaming.

AnTuTu benchmark scores land around 1.1 million on the newer v11 benchmarking version. Day-to-day app opening, multitasking, scrolling through social feeds, and running multiple apps in the background — all feel smooth and lag-free. Animations are fluid, app loading is fast, and there are no stutters in normal usage. The UFS 3.1 storage is a genuine improvement over the UFS 2.2 in the T4 Pro, delivering noticeably faster read/write speeds.

BGMI Gaming Performance

BGMI is our primary gaming benchmark. On the T5 Pro, BGMI unlocks at Smooth + Extreme Plus settings — meaning stable 90fps gameplay. In TDM matches, we recorded an average of 84–88fps, with a maximum of 91fps. In classic Erangel matches, averages settled around 80–85fps with some fluctuations during landing sequences (78–90fps range). Livik performed similarly at 80fps average.

The gyroscope response is excellent — smooth, responsive, and precise, which makes aiming in gyroscope mode very enjoyable. The 4D game vibration also adds a tactile dimension to gunshots and vehicle impacts that enhances the gaming experience significantly.

Heating & Thermals

Thermal management is one of the T5 Pro’s genuine strong points. After 50 minutes of continuous BGMI gameplay, the front panel temperature stayed at 39–40°C and the back at 38°C — well within comfortable limits. This is thanks to a large vapour cooling chamber inside the phone. Even in India’s hot summer conditions, the phone remained usable without uncomfortably hot spots. Normal day-to-day use sees the phone barely warming up at all.

The camera setup on the T5 Pro is a dual-camera system: a 50MP Sony IMX882 primary sensor with OIS (optical image stabilisation), and a 2MP depth sensor. There is no ultrawide camera and no telephoto lens — this is a significant difference from the T4 Pro, which had a 50MP periscope telephoto. For the front, you get a 32MP selfie camera. The camera quality is where vivo has maintained consistency between the T4 Pro and T5 Pro — both use the same Sony IMX882 sensor, so primary camera output in daylight is largely similar.

Daylight Photography

In normal daylight conditions, the 50MP Sony IMX882 delivers sharp, detailed images with good dynamic range. The colours have a characteristic vivo signature — warm, pleasant, and slightly processed to look Instagram-ready. Details come out well, skin tones look natural without being overly beautified, and HDR processing handles bright backgrounds effectively without blowing out highlights. The 2x zoom mode also delivers impressive sharpness thanks to AI zoom processing.

Low Light Photography

Low light performance shows a slight edge for the T5 Pro over the T4 Pro in terms of light control and shadow management. Night mode activates well and brightens scenes while retaining colour accuracy. The OIS helps significantly with hand-held low light shots, reducing blur from camera shake. Corner sharpness in low light is decent, and noise levels are well controlled for the price.

Portrait Mode

Portrait mode offers 1x and 2x options. Edge detection is accurate on both front and rear cameras — hair strands, glasses, and clothing edges are handled well. Background separation looks natural without excessive artificial blur. The colour rendering in portraits favours a slightly warmer, more flattering skin tone which suits the vivo aesthetic.

Selfie Camera — 32MP

The 32MP front camera is arguably the T5 Pro’s strongest camera department. Selfies are sharp, well-detailed, and skin tones are handled beautifully. Dynamic range in backlit conditions — shooting against a bright window or outdoor sky — is particularly impressive. The selfie camera also delivers excellent 4K 30fps video, making it a great vlogging tool for content creators.

Video Recording

The T5 Pro supports 4K 30fps video from both the rear and front cameras — a great feature for creators. Video stabilisation (EIS) is active and delivers smooth, watchable footage. Dual microphone setup captures audio clearly with good background noise reduction. The front camera’s 4K selfie video is particularly impressive and matches or beats some phones at significantly higher price points.

The 9020mAh battery is the defining feature of the T5 Pro and vivo’s biggest-ever smartphone battery. What makes this particularly impressive is that this huge capacity is packed into a body that is just 8.25mm thin — thanks to silicon carbon battery technology, which provides higher energy density in a smaller physical form compared to conventional lithium-ion cells. The result is that the T5 Pro never feels like the brickish, heavy battery phone that 9000mAh might suggest.

In real-world mixed usage — combining 5G data, Wi-Fi, social media, camera use, YouTube, and some gaming — the T5 Pro delivered well over 10 hours of screen-on time in a single day, with battery to spare for the next morning. On lighter mixed use, the phone genuinely lasts 1.5 to 2 days on a single charge. In one of our extended battery tests, the phone showed approximately 50% remaining after a full day of heavy mixed usage — an extraordinary result.

90W Fast Charging

The 90W fast charger included in the box charges the massive 9020mAh battery to 50% in approximately 35–40 minutes. A full 0–100% charge takes around 65–70 minutes — remarkably fast for a battery of this size. This means even a 35-minute charge session while getting ready in the morning gives you enough power for the rest of the day.

Reverse Wired Charging

The T5 Pro also supports reverse wired charging — you can use it to charge another phone or device via USB-C. This effectively makes the T5 Pro function as a portable power bank for your other gadgets. With a 9020mAh reservoir, there is plenty of energy to share. This is a genuinely useful feature that eliminates the need to carry a separate power bank.

The vivo T5 Pro ships with Origin OS 6 based on Android 16 — the latest version of vivo’s software experience. Origin OS has come a long way from the earlier Funtouch OS. The interface feels modern, polished, and genuinely well-designed. The control centre has been redesigned and is easier to access and use. Lock screen customisation is extensive, with multiple clock styles, depth effects, and always-on display options. Out of the box, bloatware is minimal — only a handful of pre-installed apps are present, most of which can be uninstalled.

Standout Software Features

Origin Island — vivo’s version of a dynamic notification pill at the top of the screen — is a smart implementation that shows live notifications, playback controls, and alerts in a visually appealing way. App cloning, app lock, and app hiding features are all built into the OS natively, so no third-party apps are needed. Split-screen multitasking and Picture-in-Picture mode work smoothly.

The question most potential buyers will have is: how does the T5 Pro compare to the T4 Pro, and is it worth the upgrade? The answer is nuanced. The T5 Pro is better in display quality, battery capacity, and software freshness — but the T4 Pro had a meaningfully better processor and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera that the T5 Pro completely removes.

Against the OnePlus Nord 6, the T5 Pro has a larger battery and higher peak brightness, but loses on processor performance (Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in Nord 6), ultrawide camera, and maximum refresh rate. The right choice depends on whether battery life or peak performance is your priority.
