The A37 5G’s display is genuinely good for its price. A 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ panel with 120Hz adaptive refresh rate — this is essentially the same display specification as last year’s A56, which was already well-regarded. Colors are vivid, blacks are deep, and the large canvas makes video content immersive.

The one difference versus the A57 is the panel technology: the A37 uses Super AMOLED while the A57 uses Super AMOLED Plus. Super AMOLED Plus is thinner and slightly more power-efficient, which is why the A57 can be slimmer. In everyday use, the color and brightness difference between the two panels is subtle — you’d need to put them side by side to notice it clearly.

At 1900 nits peak brightness and 1200 nits in HBM, outdoor visibility is strong. Samsung’s Vision Booster technology adapts the display in direct sunlight for better readability. HDR10 support means compatible Netflix and YouTube content looks noticeably better. The in-display fingerprint scanner is optical — it works reliably but requires a deliberate tap-and-hold rather than an instant touch.

Bezels follow the same pattern as the A57 — thin on sides and top but with a slightly thicker bottom chin. The screen-to-body ratio is solid for this price tier.

The LPDDR5X RAM upgrade is the most significant performance improvement over the A36. Faster memory means quicker app launching, smoother multitasking, and better responsiveness when switching between heavy apps. In real-world use, the A37 5G handles everything a regular user needs without hesitation.

For gaming: BGMI, COD Mobile and similar titles run at up to 60fps. The phone does not throttle heavily — heat is managed well and gaming sessions do not cause discomfort. It is not a gaming phone, but casual and moderate gaming is absolutely fine.

Compared to the A57’s Exynos 1680, the 1480 is less capable on raw benchmarks and for AI-heavy tasks. The 33% NPU difference becomes noticeable in AI photo processing, object erasing, and AI video tasks. For daily use without pushing AI features hard, the gap is smaller than numbers suggest.

Main camera (50MP OIS): This is the same 50MP main sensor with Big Pixel technology as the A57. Big Pixel means individual pixels are larger, capturing more light per pixel — directly benefiting low-light photography. The enhanced ISP in the A36 has been further tuned here. Shots in daylight are bright, vivid and punchy — exactly the look that performs well on social media. Skin tones are naturally balanced.

Nightography (low-light): The improved ISP delivers noticeably cleaner low-light shots compared to the A36. Night mode reduces noise and brings out shadow detail better. It won’t match a flagship phone, but for the price, nighttime photos are genuinely impressive and social-media ready.

Portrait mode — major upgrade: The A37 5G now has AI segmentation-powered portrait mode — the same level of portrait quality that was previously exclusive to the A57-tier. Even with complex, busy backgrounds, the subject separation is accurate and natural-looking. This is one of the biggest camera improvements over the A36.

Ultrawide (8MP): This is the main camera compromise versus the A57’s 12MP ultrawide. The 8MP sensor captures less detail, especially in challenging light, and sharpness at the corners is not as strong. For casual wide shots of landscapes and groups, it works fine — but don’t expect the crispness of a higher-resolution ultrawide.

Selfie camera (12MP): Clean, balanced skin tones, good natural colors, and wide enough for group selfies. HDR video on the selfie camera is supported. For social media use, selfie quality is very satisfying at this price point.

The A37 5G gets a solid set of Galaxy AI features — more than any previous phone at this price bracket. The standout is Agentic AI — the ability to perform complex multi-step tasks across multiple apps without switching manually. Ask it to find vegetarian restaurants nearby and send the details to a contact — it handles the whole flow. This is genuinely new territory for budget Samsung phones.

Circle to Search now supports follow-up questions after the initial circle — making it a more conversational search experience. Voice transcription for meetings and calls is a practical feature for working professionals and students who need records of conversations.

You choose your AI assistant: Bixby, Gemini, or Perplexity. This flexibility is a significant advantage — use Gemini for Google’s intelligence, Perplexity for web search, or Bixby for deeper Samsung device integration.

The 5000mAh battery is a solid capacity for a mid-range phone. Combined with the Exynos 1480’s efficiency, you can comfortably get through a full day of average use — calls, social media, video, navigation — without needing to top up. Light users may stretch to a day and a half.

45W SuperFast charging is the real highlight here. At ~₹35,000, getting 45W charging is exceptional — many phones at this price point still offer only 18W or 25W. The A37 charges at the same wired speed as the more expensive A57 5G and the Galaxy S26 Plus. About 60% in 30 minutes means a quick lunch break top-up takes you through the rest of the day.

No wireless charging — same limitation as every other Samsung A series phone. The charger is also not included in the box, so factor in the cost of a 45W adapter if you don’t already have one.

Wi-Fi 6 is solid — fast and stable on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. It doesn’t support the 6GHz band of Wi-Fi 6E (that’s reserved for the A57), so in very congested environments with many competing devices, you may notice slightly more network noise. For home and office use, Wi-Fi 6 is more than adequate.

Bluetooth 5.3 covers all standard use cases well — wireless earbuds, speakers, smartwatches. The A57’s Bluetooth 6.0 has improvements in latency and range, but 5.3 is reliable for everyday use without any real-world complaint.

NFC is present — Samsung Wallet and tap-to-pay work as expected. Dual physical SIM plus eSIM is a useful combination for multi-number users and frequent travellers. USB 2.0 on the Type-C port means data transfers are slower than USB 3.x — a limitation when moving large video files.

The A37 5G ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 — the same software version as the flagship S26 series. Samsung has promised 6 years of major OS updates and 6 years of security updates. This means guaranteed Android updates until at least 2032. Business customers receive 7 years of security patches.

One UI continues to be one of the best Android experiences available. Clean, stable, feature-rich, customizable with Good Lock. Knox security provides enterprise-level protection. Private Album, suspicious activity alerts, and Samsung’s privacy architecture are all present.

Some third-party apps come pre-installed — a mild annoyance but most can be uninstalled. Samsung’s own apps (Health, Wallet, Gallery, Notes, Calendar) are genuinely well-made and integrate deeply with the phone.
