Realme 16 5G is a phone that makes deliberate choices — and if those choices align with what you want, it is one of the best mid-range options available right now. The battery life is exceptional. The IP69 Pro rating is class-leading. The selfie mirror is genuinely innovative and useful — not a gimmick. The display is gorgeous. The Sony IMX852 camera delivers excellent still photos.
But Realme clearly prioritised experience over raw specs. The Dimensity 6400 Turbo is a mid-range chip that caps BGMI at 60fps, can’t do 90fps gaming, and doesn’t support 4K video. The UFS 2.2 storage is slower than what competitors offer in this price range. No OIS, no ultrawide, no NFC — absences that matter to some buyers.
The comparison with Sony XM6 in audio, or with projector-class devices, doesn’t apply here — but within its own class: the Realme 16 5G beats most competitors at ₹31,999 on battery, camera photo quality, IP rating, and unique design. It loses on processor, video recording, and gaming headroom.
